Final coffeehouse of 2006 will highlight local talent

The last performances of 2006 Third Tuesday Writers Coffeehouse will be by Owensboro area writers.
Merely Players will open the evening with a parody of "The Vagina Monologues." Phoebe Athey will offer her unique take on Christmas in the "Big O."
Other writers who are expected to share their takes on the annual festival of light include Barbara Bennett, Matt Branham, Elizabeth Drake-Boyt, Louise Halsey, Ryan Henry, Dori Howard, Kelly Moffett, Jesse Mountjoy, Tonya Northenor, Chris Tiahrt, Jessica Weafer, Matt Weafer and Charly Wood. There also will be music, an audience participation contest and open mike.
The event takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Woodward's at the RiverPark Center Performing Arts Center, 101 Daviess St.
