Merely Players group wins awards

Merely Players won three awards last weekend at the AACTFest, which was part
of the Kentucky Theatre Association's annual conference in Bowling Green.
The theater company won first place in the 2007-08 Community Theatre
Division, and "Open 24 Hours" will be Kentucky's entry in the Southeastern
Theatre Conference in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Merely Players was also named Outstanding Ensemble Performance in the
Community Theatre Division. Alan Velotta was awarded Excellence in Directing
for the division.
Original Works Publishing,
www.originalworksonline.com, in Los Angeles will be publishing the
script "Fringe Favorites: Open 24 Hours."
"Open 24 Hours" was directed by Velotta and featured Kevin Roach, Randi
Shamsabadi, Rachel Simmons and Velotta.
