more!

'Open 24 Hours' Review
by Taylor Martin
What an amazing array of talent at Indy Fringe this year. I got to see two
works; one from Indy and one from Owensboro, Kentucky. Both were relevant,
funny, and amazingly original. Then, there was my show. And I must say, we
all kicked butt and took names.
"Open 24 Hours" is a collection of five short plays performed by a group of
actors from Kentucky. They have chosen new works from five up-and-coming
playwrights, and they are all distinctive. From two couples analyzing what
makes an uncomfortable moment in a conversation (7 seconds is an official
one) to three people considering skinny dipping on New Year's Day (and they
do), and a dead clown that was the result of something gone terribly wrong,
you realize that this is what live theater has to offer. And, with full
nudity (not by the clown), it takes IndyFringe to a new level. Smoking
onstage, nudity, dead clown; what else can an anthology show have?
