If you like stand up comedy, but are looking for something fresh and new,
then "Adventures in Mating" should be scheduled into your Fringe Festival
agenda.
"Adventures in Mating" is a romantic comedy about the gruesome obstacles
stumbled upon during a blind date. How the characters overcome those
obstacles however, is left to the fate of the audience. For instance, just
as the show approaches a new scene the narrator rings a bell and a pivotal
question dictating the future of the show is posed to the audience: Should
the characters order, "red wine, for beef and seduction" or "white wine, for
chicken and sadness"?
Thankfully, no matter what the audience chooses, this mix-matched pairing of
two over-the-top characters will leave everyone with cheeks sore from smiles
and laughter. Like an extended Saturday Night Live skit, funny one-liners
and witty retorts keep its audience attention. And if those aren't enough,
you always have that quirky audience member whose participation has everyone
nervously asking, "What next?"
This interactive, romantic comedy is light, airy, and spontaneous… a perfect
cure for anyone who needs a change of pace from that rerun of Everybody Love
Raymond.
