Get Involved

Volunteers are an important part of our family of players both on and offstage. The contributions of local actors, singers, musicians and theatre aficionados are vital to the success of our productions. Whatever your interests, Merely Players can use your help. Acting

Merely Players holds auditions throughout the year. The shows for the following season include actors cast from those auditions, performers who have worked for us before and guest artists who have been brought in by individual directors. In addition, the Board of Directors attends many shows throughout the year and may call in actors based on work they see in those shows.

Occasionally, some roles are pre-cast in Merely Players' productions. We will always make clear which roles those are in each production. Final casting decisions are made primarily by the director, with input from the Artistic Directors.

Directing

The Artistic Directors select all directors for Merely Players' productions. With very few exceptions, invitations are extended to directors by an Artistic Director or Board member who has seen their work elsewhere. If you are interested in directing at Merely Players, please notify us in writing as to when your work can be seen and send a letter of interest along with a resume to the address below.

Playwrights

We are committed to significantly increasing the number of newer plays performed in the tri-state. Merely Players encourages submissions from playwrights throughout the year for consideration for staged readings, workshops and Mainstage production.
